A quick note from your friendly blogger!

Some would land in Salt Lake City, look around, and ask, “What in the world am I doing here? And how quickly can I get out?” Stephanie Novak got to Salt Lake City looked around and said, “Right. Bring it on.” Since moving to Salt Lake City in late 2009, she has become an active member of the city’s LGBTQ community, volunteering with the Utah Pride Center, Bi-Utah and bringing Sister Spit to SLC for the 2010 Tour. She founded and continues to run When She Speaks I Hear the Revolution open mic, a monthly open mic dedicated to the voices of women and the trans community. When she’s not writing or working on creating a local feminist/activist community, she’s listening to music. Old, new, alt rock, metal, indie…you name it, she’ll give it a shot.
